For this challenge, I was supposed to delete one of my most used apps for a day or more. Unsurprisingly, this app for me was TikTok.
nnnnI spent a good 2 hours on TikTok per day on average. This is usually in the morning, during meals, before bed, or just rotting on the couch.
nnnnI didn’t want to delete the app, as I would lose all of my drafts I had, so I did not go on it for 24 hours.
nnnnI personally didn’t experience any anxiety without this app, but I did have the urge to go on it many times and was disappointed when I couldn’t. Anytime I was sitting down or on my phone for an extended period of time, I wanted to go watch TikTok, I found myself replacing it with Instagram reels, but not to the extent I had used TikTok. I honestly had a pretty positive experience this day. My screentime had gone down to about 3 and a half hours, I went to the gym, I did homework, I went on a walk, and went to bed at a decent time. I felt good, productive, and refreshed.
